Campus Passage
Terms of Service
Effective October 12, 2026 · Last updated October 12, 2026
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and J Dock Holding, LLC, doing business as Campus Passage ("Campus Passage," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of campuspassage.com, your Campus Passage plan and dashboard, and related features (together, the "Service").
By accepting an invitation, creating an account, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy at campuspassage.com/privacy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Please read Section 19 carefully. It requires most disputes to be resolved through individual arbitration, not in court, and it waives class actions. You may opt out of arbitration as described there.
2. Key terms
- Account Holder: the adult who creates the account and is responsible for it.
- Household: the Account Holder and the Students they add to their plan.
- Student: a college-bound student added to a Household plan. Students do not have their own accounts.
- Plan: the personalized list of steps, dates, and updates the Service shows for each Student and school.
- Official Source: a school's, scholarship sponsor's, or other provider's own published information or communications.
- Founding Family Beta: the free, invitation-only early-access program described in Section 4.
3. Who can use Campus Passage
3.1 Adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Only a parent, legal guardian, or other adult acting on behalf of a Household may be an Account Holder.
3.2 Students. You may add Students to your plan. You are responsible for any information you enter about them, and you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian or otherwise have their permission. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 18.
3.3 Your account. You create your account from your invitation and sign in with your email address and a password you choose. Keep your password private, and keep your email account secure, because password-reset links are sent there. Do not share your sign-in or forward your invitation. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@campuspassage.com if you believe someone else has used it.
4. The Founding Family Beta
4.1 Invitation only. During the beta, accounts are available only through an invitation. Each invitation is tied to one email address, can be used once, and may expire. The beta is limited to 25 Households. We may decline, revoke, or limit invitations at our discretion.
4.2 Free until school starts. Founding Families pay nothing. We do not collect a payment card, and nothing will ever be charged automatically. Your free access lasts through August 31 of your plan's entering year for a fall start (for example, August 31, 2027 for Fall 2027), or January 31 for a spring start. That date does not move if a Student defers, takes a gap term, or changes schools. After that date, your account stays open so you can still view your plan until you delete it. We will never bill you after the fact for any part of the free period. If we offer paid plans in the future, you will be asked to agree to them separately; nothing changes for you without your clear agreement.
4.3 Early-stage service. The Service is new. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and some may sometimes be unavailable or contain errors. Please report problems through the feedback link in the Service.
4.4 Feedback is optional. We may ask for your feedback or a testimonial. Giving either is always optional, and your access never depends on it or on what you say. Publishing a testimonial requires your separate, written opt-in.
4.5 If the beta ends early. If we discontinue the Service, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and a way to download your plan information before it ends.
5. What Campus Passage is, and what it is not
5.1 What we do. Campus Passage is an organizing and information service. It gathers what schools and sponsors publish and turns it into a Plan for each Student and school: what a step is, whose move it is, when it is due (if the school has published a date), and where the official information is.
5.2 What we do not do. Campus Passage does not:
- apply to any school, or submit, sign, or complete any form on your behalf;
- sign in to any school, financial aid, or other portal, or ask for your portal passwords;
- make or predict admission, eligibility, financial aid, scholarship, or award decisions;
- pay any bill, move any money, or change any school record; or
- provide legal, tax, financial, investment, medical, or professional college-counseling advice.
5.3 Not affiliated with any school. Campus Passage is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any college, university, school district, scholarship sponsor, testing agency, application platform, or government agency. School names belong to their owners and are used only to identify those institutions.
5.4 Not a substitute for your counselor. The Service is designed to help your family stay organized and ask better questions. It does not replace your school counselor, the school's own offices, or any professional adviser.
6. Information, accuracy, and your responsibility
6.1 Official Sources control. Schools change dates, requirements, and policies, sometimes without notice. If anything in your Plan differs from an Official Source, the Official Source controls. Confirm every date, amount, and requirement with the school or sponsor before you act.
6.2 Research status is shown. When you add a school, the Service begins researching it and shows its status. Items may be labeled "Research in progress," "Not yet verified," or "Not yet published." A "Not yet verified" item has not been confirmed against an Official Source and should not be relied on until you confirm it yourself.
6.3 "Up to 144 checks." Our 12² Standard looks at up to 12 checks in each of 12 areas, for up to 144 checks per school and term. Not every check applies to every school or term, and some information may not be published. A completed check means an item was reviewed against an Official Source on a recorded date. It is not a guarantee that the information is complete, current, or error-free.
6.4 Unpublished and school-side items. If a school has not published a date, your Plan will say so rather than guess. "School-side wait" means the next action appears to belong to the school; it is not a promise about when or whether the school will act.
6.5 You remain responsible. You and your Student remain solely responsible for meeting every deadline and requirement, for anything you submit to a school or sponsor, and for all decisions about applications, enrollment, housing, financing, and payments.
6.6 Tell us about errors. If you find something wrong, please report it through the feedback link. We will review it and correct confirmed errors, but a report does not change your responsibility under Section 6.5.
7. No guarantee of outcomes
We do not guarantee admission to any school, any financial aid, scholarship, or award, any housing assignment, course placement, or enrollment, any cost savings, or any other result. Using the Service does not ensure that you will not miss a deadline.
8. Ask Al
Ask Al answers common questions about how Campus Passage works, using content we have prepared. It does not look at your Plan, and it does not give legal, tax, financial, or admissions advice. If we later add features that use artificial intelligence to answer questions about your Plan, we will tell you before they are turned on and update these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
9. Fees
The Founding Family Beta is free (Section 4.2). We will not charge you for anything unless you first agree to specific paid terms at that time.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anyone other than your own Household, or share or resell your access, your invitation, or information from the Service;
- add schools or Students in order to research on behalf of people outside your Household;
- scrape, copy, or bulk-download the Service's content, or use it to build a competing product;
- reverse-engineer, interfere with, overload, or try to get around the Service's security, including trying to access another Household's information;
- upload malicious code or false information; or
- use the Service in violation of any law or anyone else's rights.
11. Your information
11.1 It stays yours. Information you add to the Service about your Household and Students ("Your Content") remains yours.
11.2 Our limited license. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, and use Your Content only to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. This license ends when Your Content is deleted, except for copies kept for a limited time in backups. We may create de-identified, aggregated information that cannot identify you, your Household, or your Students, and use it to improve the Service.
11.3 Privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
11.4 Feedback. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
12. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, research content, the 12² Standard, and the Campus Passage name and logo, is owned by us or our licensors. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your own Household's college planning under these Terms. All other rights are reserved.
13. Third-party sites and services
The Service links to school websites and other third-party sites, and relies on service providers for hosting, data storage, and email. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. Their own terms apply when you use them.
14. Emails from us
By creating an account, you agree that we may email you about the Service, including sign-in links, invitation and account notices, Plan updates and reminders, and changes to these Terms. We will not send marketing emails during the beta without your consent, and any marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe.
15. Deleting your account, suspension, and termination
15.1 You can delete your account at any time in your account settings, including after your free access period ends. Deleting your account permanently removes your account, your Household, your Students, the schools you added, your Plan, and your research requests. If you later sign up again, you start with a new, empty account; nothing from the deleted account is restored. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to 7 days before they are overwritten, and we keep a minimal record that the deletion happened, without your Household's details, so we can show we honored it.
15.2 By us. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we discontinue the Service (Section 4.5). If we suspend you, you will not be able to sign in, even on a device that was already signed in.
15.3 What survives. Sections 6, 7, 10 through 13, and 16 through 22 continue after your access ends.
16. Changes to the Service
We may change, add, or remove features. If a change materially reduces what the Founding Family Beta provides, we will tell you by email first.
17. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ALL INFORMATION, PLANS, CHECKS, AND RESEARCH STATUSES, IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL IDENTIFY EVERY DEADLINE, REQUIREMENT, OR CHANGE.
18. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
(a) WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY, ADMISSION, AID, SCHOLARSHIP, HOUSING, DEPOSIT, TUITION, FEES, DATA, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE; AND
(b) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
19. Disputes and arbitration
19.1 Talk to us first. Before filing any claim, you agree to email hello@campuspassage.com describing the dispute and to give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. We agree to do the same.
19.2 Binding individual arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and Campus Passage agree that any dispute arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in Collin County, Texas, or by video or phone if you prefer, and the arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this Section.
19.3 Exceptions. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies, and either of us may go to court over infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
19.4 Class-action and jury waiver. YOU AND CAMPUS PASSAGE AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. YOU AND CAMPUS PASSAGE WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL.
19.5 Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing hello@campuspassage.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with your name, account email, and a clear statement that you are opting out.
19.6 If the class waiver fails. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim will proceed in court, not in arbitration.
20. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs Section 19. Any claim not subject to arbitration will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Collin County, Texas, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make a material change, we will email you before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the effective date, you accept the updated Terms. Changes do not apply to disputes that arose before the change.
22. General
These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, and we will tell you if that happens. We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
